Support the Rideshare Living Wage and Safety Ordinance!
The Uber and Lyft corporations make their profits by doing as little as they can for the drivers that make their business run. Ever since they came to Chicago ten years ago, demand for drivers and passenger fares have increased, while driver pay has tanked. Chicago drivers have had enough, and passengers want to know that the money they spend on a ride actually lands in their driver's pocket.
The Rideshare Living Wage and Safety Ordinance will protect driver safety, create a transparent system to handle driver deactivations and appeals, and raise wages while keeping passenger fares steady by capping the amount of money these companies are allowed to take from their drivers after each ride. Please encourage your alderman and Mayor Brandon Johnson to support this ordinance by sending our letter!
