The RIFL Act, creates corporate accountability for firearms manufacturers through a no-fault compensation fund according to manufacturers products' contribution to injuries and death in Illinois. Shifting the costs of firearm injuries and death from victims and the public to the firearm industry. The fund is the first payer of medical care expenses, relieving the State from Medicaid and Medicare costs associated with firearm injury. Importantly, creating a financial incentive for manufacturers to reduce their product's association with injury and death.
