Tell Congress to Pass the Survivors' Rights Restitution Act
We must pass the Survivors' Rights Restitution Act to hold the government accountable for infringing on victims' rights.
The federal government has repeatedly failed to protect survivors. The ongoing egregious treatment of the Epstein survivors is a prime example. The FBI and DOJ ignored credible abuse claims as early as 1996, allowing harm to continue for decades. While releasing the Epstein files, the DOJ neglected to redact survivors’ information, leading to harassment and revictimization. Survivors have not received accountability from the government for infringing on their rights and failing to prevent decades of abuse.
The Survivors’ Rights Restitution Act will compensate survivors for harms they endured as a result of their survivor rights being infringed upon. The bill requires cases to be handled by professionals with expertise in trauma-informed care. Holding the government accountable helps prevent future abuse. Tell your representative to take action!
