Suspend John Berenato Immediately!

The Manchester School District has been rocked by disturbing allegations against the Superintendent as outlined in numerous news media articles recently. The alleged actions and behavior outlined are wholly unacceptable in any professional workplace, especially in a school district, and especially by the Superintendent. Additionally, other allegations are bubbling to the surface. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, however the Board needs to suspend Mr. Berenato immediately! He should not have access to or contact with any district employee and must be restricted from school property until The Board has conducted a thorough investigation into his conduct and any violations of Board Policy, including but not limited to the following:

1220 - EMPLOYMENT OF CHIEF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR (M)

During the term of the contract, the Superintendent shall not be dismissed or reduced in compensation except for inefficiency, incapacity, conduct unbecoming a Superintendent, or other just cause and only by the Commissioner of Education pursuant to the tenure hearing laws.

3362 - SEXUAL HARASSMENT (M)

1140 - AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PROGRAM (M)

1230 - SUPERINTENDENT'S DUTIES (M)

Any other staff member accused of such conduct would be suspended immediately, and we need to demand that the Superintendent is held to the same standard.
