TAKE ACTION: Tell Congress to Protect Our Immigrant & Refugee Neighbors and Invest in Black Communities

The Trump administration just extended and amended his executive order issued on April 22, 2020, that vastly cuts immigration and splits apart thousands of families. This action blocks most family reunification visas, including parents and siblings of U.S. citizens, as well as spouses and minor children of permanent residents. This isn't even Trump's only anti-immigrant act this week: his administration just implemented a rule to make it even more difficult for asylum seekers to obtain a work-permit, all while communities continue to suffer from COVID-19. Trump is continuing to advance his xenophobic agenda to divide the country and distract from his failure to protect the American people.

It's time for Congress to step in and fight for immigrant families. Encourage your representatives to strengthen and expand policies that protect family unity and ensure the immigration system is inclusive with all immigrants and their families, while standing in solidarity with Black people and Black families, including Black immigrants and refugees, who have been targeted, injured, and killed by police, institutionalized violence by local policing and immigration enforcement, and by the systemic racism in our nation’s institutions. Urge Congress to improve our family-based immigration system and help families across the nation thrive.

Use this digital action to send a message to your representatives:

  • 1) Protect Immigrants and Refugees During the Pandemic

  • 2) Defund Hate

  • 3) Protect Family-Based Immigration

From day laborers delivering much-needed food and medical supplies to domestic workers and janitors ensuring clean and hygienic workplaces, frontline workers continue to play a vital role in the medical, food and service sectors. Immigrant doctors and healthcare workers are risking their own lives and family to ensure the safety of others. Don't let Trump get away with separating even more people from their families.
