Take Action for the Working Families Tax Credit

Washington made history in 2021 when the legislature passed and funded the Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC) to help low-income working families. Starting this past February, eligible households can receive up to $1,200 per year to spend as they see fit. In this year's legislative session, House Bill 1477 proposes to make the WFTC accessible to more families by allowing families to apply for the credit for up to 3 years and by expanding the credit to "married filing separately" income tax filers, a critical inclusion for survivors of domestic violence. The bill is currently in the Senate Ways & Means Committee and Senators need to hear from you right now that you support this bill!

Take action today to help more low-income working families in Washington get the support they deserve. Write to your senators, using the template linked here, to let them know you’d like to see them vote in favor of this bill.
