This Saturday, November 1, is a critical day for families struggling to make ends meet in our country, as millions of Americans face losing health care and food. Catholics and people of faith across the country affirm that food and health care are basic rights for all of us, not luxuries.

We have never stopped feeding people in our country before. The failure of the Trump administration and congressional Republicans to choose We the People over corporations is an immoral policy choice.

Will you urge your Members of Congress to take action now for We the People?

1. Ask Members to push the Administration to release SNAP contingency funding so families can eat during the shutdown.  In past shutdowns, administrations of both parties sustained SNAP benefits so people had food to eat.
2. Ask Members to pass a bipartisan continuing resolution (CR) that addresses the healthcare crisis and maintains SNAP funding. Congress must pass a bipartisan CR that puts our people back to work, fixes the healthcare crisis, and ensures that our families have the food they need and deserve to thrive.
