Take Action Now to Ensure Washington State Welcomes and Supports Refugees

Take action now to urge the Washington State Legislature to invest in refugees and the organizations upon which refugees rely.

Resettlement agencies and community-based organizations are the ones that on a day-to-day basis help to ensure that refugees coming to Washington State have the resources, support, and networks they need to transition, survive, and thrive. This is true for refugees in the past, along with the roughly 3,000 Afghan refugees who have come to Washington in the last six months. And this will be true as conflicts - like the one in Ukraine - continue to unfold across the world.

Communities have called on the legislature to provide one-time emergency financial support in the state budget to help these refugee-serving organizations rise to this moment. They are being strained to the breaking point responding to new crises even as they recover from attacks under the Trump administration, the pandemic, and the economic downturn.

Join us in calling for the legislature to fully fund a $30 million budget request to rebuild our state's refugee resettlement infrastructure today!
