These "forever chemicals" are found in pesticides that are commonly used in homes, emergency rooms, health care facilities, and schools and pose a real danger to already vulnerable populations—sick people, elderly people, and children, among others. PFAS pesticides are also used on crops and are contaminating our food, water and soil.

There's no getting rid of them once they are in your body. The health effects can be dire: heart disease, cancers, birth defects, impaired immune systems, and developmental damage in children.

This bill would affect a tiny percentage of the pesticides allowed in Maryland—less than 8%. Yet, the pesticide industry wants you to believe the opposite. We can't let that happen—the stakes are too high!
