Legislation is pending, Assembly Bill 1948, that would temporarily eliminate the cultivation tax on cannabis in California, and lower the state excise tax from 15% to 11% until 2023. These will not only result in savings to cannabis consumers, it will help bolster the legal marijuana market in California, which is struggling to compete against unlicensed operators that sell untaxed, unregulated, and untested products.
