Take Action: Urge Mayor Lurie to Stop the Cuts to Domestic Workers
Take one minute today to email the Mayor and Board of Supervisors and demand a budget that protects community services.
The City is currently proposing nearly $75 million in cuts to community-based organizations. The Domestic Worker Rights Collaborative in San Francisco is set to be completely eliminated.
This is a key moment to demonstrate the strength of our coalition and our shared commitment to the safety, security and dignity of domestic workers.
Impact of Cutting These Funds
A reduction or elimination of funding would have immediate and measurable consequences:
● 600 workers and 500 employers would lose access to rights education annually, increasing vulnerability to wage theft and labor violations.
● Language-accessible materials and outreach in immigrant neighborhoods would shrink, deepening inequities.
We are asking you to stand with domestic workers by sending a letter to Mayor Daniel Lurie urging him to protect - not cut - funding for this critical program.
Send a message to tell Mayor Daniel Lurie: keep supporting domestic workers - housecleaners, nannies and homecare workers who make this city run.
