The Palestinian-led BDS movement has asked supporters to boycott Chevron, which is fueling genocide in Gaza and ecological devastation worldwide. Chevron is the part-owner and operator of the Leviathan and Tamar gas fields in the eastern Mediterranean. These fields yield huge profits, a portion of which are collected as tax revenue by the Israeli government. Meanwhile, the gas fuels Israeli infrastructure, settlement expansion, and munitions. Chevron has only been operating in Israel since 2020. This is a recent investment, and one that can be reversed through mass pressure.

Cain Petroleum is the biggest Chevron franchise-holder in the Portland area, operating around 30 gas stations, and we are asking them to use their leverage to ask Chevron to pull out of the Israeli market. Franchisees are uniquely positioned to apply pressure from within, and a large franchisee like Cain is more likely to get Chevron's attention. Let Cain's executive team know that they have the power to influence Chevron, and remind them that companies can be implicated in violations of international law. The worse Chevron's reputation gets, the more it will affect their business.
