On Friday, May 15, nearly 200 former senior diplomats sent an unprecedented letter to Prime Minister Mark Carney urging him to act now and impose robust sanctions on Israel.

The letter included 10 important recommendations, including sanctions onIsraeli government officials, settlers or organizations that promote violence against Palestinians and seizure of their land”.

The letter also called for legal action against Canadian companies that bid on settlement construction projects, such as in E1, an immediate review of the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement (CIFTA), and the termination of the Canada-Israel Strategic Partnership.

This comes just days after the European Union imposed additional sanctions on Israeli settlers and settler organizations, including Regavim, a key enabler of Palestinian displacement.

The time for action is now.

Illegal Israeli Settlements are expanding at an alarming rate. Settler violence is increasing. Genocide is ongoing. Palestinians and the occupied West Bank and Gaza and Lebanese in South Lebanon continue to be killed day in and day out, despite supposed ceasefires.

Join us in writing to Mark Carney, Anita Anand and your Member of Parliament to demand that they listen to former diplomats and SANCTION ISRAEL NOW!
