Tell Cherry Cove to accede to their tenants' demands

Lord Calvert Tenants United / Lord Calvert inquilinos unidos

This year, the residents of Lord Calvert Mobile Homes have succeeded in preventing their neighborhood from being redeveloped and gentrified. Since then, they have formed a Tenant Association - Lord Calvert Tenants United.

Cherry Cove Group, the company that owns the park, neglected it for years because they believed they would be getting rid of it. Now that they are keeping it, they are raising the rent by 20% over only 18 months while cracking down on minor infractions, threatening residents with eviction, and continuing to neglect the needs of their tenants.

Lord Calvert Tenants United is demanding that Cherry Cove cancel the rent increase, allow tenants to keep their additions and belongings, give tenants notice before towing their cars, and improve responsiveness to maintenance requests.

If the rent is increased, residents will not be able to afford the new rent and may end up homeless - hurting them and putting a strain on our charities and government agencies. Nearby neighborhoods will increase their rents as well, making the problem exponentially worse for everyone.

By signing our letter to Cherry Cove's management, you will be increasing the pressure on them to accede to their tenants' demands and helping to keep housing affordable for everyone in our community.
