Tell Seattle City Council: Don’t stall JumpStart! Invest in Seattle’s future
Speak Up Now to Protect Hundreds of Millions of Dollars For Affordable Homes & Other Community
📢 We need YOU to raise the pressure on City Council to honor Seattle's commitment to a housed, green, and equitable future for everyone - urge your councilmembers to save Jumpstart! Send a letter to YOUR councilmembers TODAY and personalize your letter!
What we are fighting to protect:

- Jumpstart has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for affordable homes, equitable development, and Green New Deal jobs
- The Jumpstart Spending Plan (which was unanimously passed in 2020 by the Seattle City Council) determines how Jumpstart money is spent (including 62% on affordable homes)
- But this year, the Seattle City Council and Mayor Harrell could undermine this forever. They propose to spend Jumpstart money on virtually anything.
- Councilmember Tammy Morales has proposed reasonable amendments that would preserve 80% of Jumpstart for the original commitments, and allow 20% to help address other city priorities.
The Coalition on Homelessness joins more than 30 community groups, labor unions, shelter and housing providers, food banks, and climate activists to call on the Council to protect Jumpstart. Read our letter to City Council here. Add your voice to ours.
