Tell Congress NOT to repeal Obamacare

They're back.

There's a new Trump/Ryan health care proposal floating around Capitol Hill that would effectively gut the Affordable Care Act's (Obamacare's) pre-existing condition protections. Yes, the Republicans and Donald Trump are again trying to gut our health insurance protections.

You can read my explanation below, or go immediately to the "start writing" button on the right side of this page, and send your members of Congress an email telling them to vote NO on ACA repeal.

Under the new GOP proposal, you could be charged more for insurance if you have allergies, high cholesterol, eczema, or even simply because you're a woman. Yes, before Obamacare, many insurance companies would charge women more than men for the exact same policies.

And forget about if you have a serious illness like cancer. They can jack your rates so high -- by thousands of dollars a month -- that you'll never be able to afford insurance at all. Of course, you don't have to have cancer -- before the ACA, people were getting turned down for insurance simply because they had high cholesterol or eczema.

The Republicans are also planning on repealing the ACA's requirement that all health insurance policies cover a minimum of services, like hospitalization, prescription drugs, emergency services, and maternity (among others). Under the new Trump/Ryan proposal, individual states can opt-out of those benefits.

We stopped the Republicans from destroying our health insurance protections once, and we can stop them again. Raise your voice, get angry, and tell Congress to take their hands off your health insurance and leave the Affordable Care Act alone.

Use the form on this page to send a message to your Senators and House members. Write it in your own words, but the main point is: Do not repeal the Affordable Care Act or any of its protections.
