On June 5, Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), alongside Reps. Sara Jacobs, Pramila Jayapal, and Mark Pocan, led 18 Members of Congress to introduce H.R. 3565, the “Block the Bombs Act,” to halt offensive U.S. weapons to Israel, including bombs, tank rounds, and artillery shells and to demand Israel’s compliance with U.S. and international humanitarian law.

For the past 23 months, more than 2.1 million Palestinians in Gaza have faced genocide, starvation, and mass displacement — all fueled by U.S.-made weapons. Since October 2023, the U.S. has provided over $30 billion in military assistance to Israel.

This is the first time in history that Congress has worked to proactively halt offensive U.S. weapons to Israel.
