Urge Congress to Support the Pingree Amendment in the Farm Bill NOW

Protect States' Pesticide Laws

ACT NOW: Please urge your representative to support the Pingree Amendment to preserve pesticide protections in the Farm Bill, or oppose the Farm Bill in its current form.

The current Farm Bill protects neither farmers nor children. In fact, it’s a complete betrayal to the health of our children. And the House is moving forward with a vote on the Farm Bill any day now. Currently, without the Pingree Amendment, it includes harmful pesticide language. Now is the time to ask your US House Representative to support the Pingree Amendment to remove giveaways to the pesticide industry. If the Pingree Amendment is not passed, we're asking House members to vote against the Farm Bill.

Please act now by sending a quick email to your representative. Click "Start Writing."

Despite the science linking dangerous pesticides like glyphosate and neonics to life-threatening health conditions like cancer, the pesticide industry is determined to throw out all state and local regulations, just to protect their profit margins.

Corporations like Bayer are pressuring lawmakers to include language in the 2026 Farm Bill that could OVERTURN all pesticide protections set by states and local communities, forcing us to adhere to industry-weakened federal regulations only.

The current Farm Bill would eliminate Maryland's 10 state laws and numerous local laws that go further than the EPA's regulations for pesticide use – local laws designed to protect vulnerable populations such as schoolchildren and farmworkers, as well as endanger bees and other pollinators.

Please take immediate action by contacting your representatives today—it only takes a minute! Urge them to protect our most vulnerable communities and species by keeping Maryland's state and local pesticide regulations intact.
