Tell Congress: Free Mohsen Mahdawi

UPDATE 4/16/25 - CALL TO ACTION FOR MOHSEN MAHDAWI:
Masked, hooded federal agents abducted Palestinian Columbia student leader Mohsen Mahdawi, a U.S. permanent resident, on Monday, April 14th in Vermont during what was to be his citizenship interview. Mohsen was handcuffed and taken into an unmarked van from the USCIS office in Colchester, Vermont.
It's absolutely appalling and horrifying that Mohsen was tricked into coming to a government office under the guise of getting his citizenship, but was then apprehended and arrested by the Trump administration for merely exercising his First Amendment rights by speaking in support of Palestinian rights.
Rep. Becca Balint is leading an important bicameral Congressional letter supporting Mohsen.
We urge Members of Congress to sign Rep. Balint's letter calling for Mohsen Mahdawi's immediate release.

CALL TO ACTION FOR MAHMOUD KHALIL:
Acting on Trump and Rubio's orders, ICE agents (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) unlawfully detained a legal permanent resident, Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian and recent graduate student for exercising his First Amendment rights by organizing student protests at Columbia University opposing the genocide in Gaza.
Mahmoud Khalil is a legal permanent resident, and his arrest and detainment violates his Constitutional rights as a permanent resident.
At this time, it is reported that Khalil was targeted and detained without a warrant and flown to a detention facility in Louisiana.
We urge Members of Congress, especially New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand and Representative Espaillat, to take action calling for Mahmoud Khalil's immediate release and defending the free speech rights of students and activists.
