Use this letter-writing tool to tell your representative to oppose the "United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative" provision in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Every year, Congress passes the NDAA, which is a set of provisions authorizing funding for the US military industrial complex and US war making policy. This draft of the NDAA includes a horrific provision that would further entrench military ties between the US and Israel, giving Israel a blank check as a part of the Pentagon’s budget of $1.15 trillion.

This provision would give Israel special privileges available to no other country. Today, the US-Israel military relationship is managed through military aid, weapons sales, military coordination, and co-operation between intelligence agencies. This latest provision would entrench the US-Israeli military partnership, allowing for direct aid outside the public eye, joint research and co-production of military technology, formalized information sharing between the two militaries, and combined military exercises.

If this provision passes, we would be one step removed from the US and Israel military formally operating as the same entity. The harm this could do is staggering: it would make any attempts at curbing US-Israeli cooperation at the Congressional level futile, it would give Israel unlimited access to the newest military technology for its genocidal endeavors, and it would embolden future US-Israeli acts of aggression towards Iran.

You can take action today by emailing your representative to tell them that furthering the US-Israeli military ties is unacceptable. We need to dismantle US-Israeli ties by committing to a total arms embargo on the state of Israel. That is the only pathway to a lasting peace.
