Tell Congress: No Unauthorized War with Iran!

We need our members of Congress to remember the true costs of military involvement overseas and prevent an unnecessary war of choice. This is where YOU come in. Congress has the sole power to declare war, as laid out in the Constitution.

Now is the time for us to email our members of Congress and ask them pass war powers resolutions to reassert the role of Congress in it's constitutional responsibility and steer our country back toward negotiated peace.

Any decision to use military force carries profound consequences. Leaders may debate strategy, but military families live the outcome every single day. As a country, we must ensure that when service members are placed in harm’s way, there is clarity, accountability, and sustained support for the families who bear that cost. That responsibility belongs to all of us.

And remember: this isn’t a partisan issue - this is a Constitutional issue. As we approach the 250th anniversary of our country’s founding, it’s worth revisiting why our founders wrote Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution to begin with.

The authors of America’s Constitution came from the British monarchy, where kings could throw their countries hastily into war based on personal whims or profits, without accountability from the people who had to actually fight in those wars. The United States set ourselves apart by requiring Congress - the branch of government more frequently accountable to democratic voters - to openly debate whether to declare war or to pull us back from military hostilities, and to enact oversight throughout any operations.

We know things are scary right now. But don’t let fear paralyze you into inaction. Together, we CAN have a voice in shaping the decisions impacting our future. Write a letter now by using the handy tool on the right!
