Tell Congress: Protect ordinary people, not billionaires!

People in Maine live in all kinds of places—and whether you live on the coast, one of our state’s biggest cities or tiniest towns, most Mainers share a big priority: We want to take care of our families and communities and leave things better for the future.

That’s one of the many reasons we’re so committed to fighting for ordinary people when the Trump tax cuts expire this year. The US Congress is facing what shouldn’t be a hard choice: They can extend huge giveaways to billionaires and super-rich corporations who have rigged the game for themselves, or they can make sure that those people pay what they really owe in taxes so the rest of us can thrive.

That means putting cash back in the pockets of Americans with low and middle incomes, closing corporate tax loopholes, protecting programs so many of us rely on, like Social Security, Medicare, and veterans’ health care, and expanding the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit.

It shouldn’t be a hard choice, but we all know Congress often needs encouragement to do the right thing. We’re asking you to write your members of Congress and let them know we’re paying attention—and urge them to work for fair taxes for all Americans—not just a few of the most privileged. Thank you!
