Tell Congress: Support the Energy Bills Relief Act
Americans are paying more for electricity at the same time that climate impacts are intensifying. Families are facing higher monthly bills, greater energy insecurity, and growing risks from pollution and extreme weather. The current system is failing to deliver affordability or stability.
The Energy Bills Relief Act provides a direct response. It focuses on expanding the fastest and most cost-effective sources of new power: solar and wind. These technologies are already driving new energy capacity across the country and offer a clear path to lowering costs while reducing pollution.
This legislation will modernize and strengthen the electrical grid, making it easier to connect new clean energy projects and deliver power where it is needed most. It includes protections to prevent rising demand, including from large energy users like data centers, from driving up costs for households. It also prioritizes energy efficiency and expands programs to ensure vulnerable communities can maintain access to heating and cooling.
The bill restores key clean energy incentives that were eliminated in 2025, unlocking investment and accelerating deployment. These policies reduce long-term costs, create jobs, and improve public health outcomes by cutting harmful emissions.
The Earth Day 2026 theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” reflects a simple reality: energy systems should serve people. Affordable, reliable, and clean energy is achievable with the tools already available.
Congress has the authority to act. The Energy Bills Relief Act is a practical step toward a more stable, equitable, and cost-effective energy system.
