Tell Congress to Protect Housing and Services for People with Disabilities
Across the U.S., people with disabilities face some of the highest rates of poverty, housing instability, and forced institutionalization. Many rely on HUD programs like Section 811 and Mainstream Vouchers to access affordable, accessible homes in the community. And for those who need support to live independently, Medicaid Home- and Community-Based Services (HCBS) provide essential care like personal assistance, transportation, and health services.
But Congress is considering cuts, caps, and harmful restrictions—including work requirements—that would roll back decades of progress. These changes would force people into institutions, increase homelessness, and violate civil rights.
Our elected officials need to hear from all of us: Protect housing and services that allow people with disabilities to thrive in their communities—not just survive.
✉️ Send a letter to your members of Congress now to urge them to:
-
Oppose any cuts or barriers to Medicaid HCBS
-
Protect and expand federal housing programs that serve people with disabilities
-
Reject work requirements and other harmful eligibility restrictions
Together, we can defend the right for everyone to live in the community.
