Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives advanced legislation that proposes devastating cuts to federal education funding. When the House proposed similar cuts last year, public outcry caused lawmakers to scrap the plan and protect funding. Legislators need to hear your voice once again!

This bill would completely eliminate 16 federal programs, including:

• Title II-A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which can be used to provide candidate and fee support for National Board Certification, among other professional development

• the Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grant, which has funded initiatives to grow NBCTs in targeted states and districts

We need to ensure that every legislator understands this proposal is a non-starter for our schools, teachers, and students. Please send a message to your legislators telling them how important it is to fund these programs responsibly.
