Tell Congress to Stop HUD’s Relocation!

HUD has begun relocating from the Robert C. Weaver Building in Washington, DC, to 2415 Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, VA. This move to Alexandria is happening in a manner that raises serious concerns related to legal compliance, statutory authority, and adherence to federal procedures governing a Cabinet-level headquarters move. No evidence has been provided supporting HUD’s public justification for the move. HUD has withheld all documents required by law, provided no legal authority, and produced no planning, safety, structural, or financial records to support its claims.

Furthermore, this move is placing an undue burden on HUD’s already reduced workforce, including longer and more difficult commutes, reduced transit access, higher commuting costs, ADA and accessibility barriers, childcare/dependent-care burdens, morale decline, and increased attrition.
