Tell DeKalb County: We Need Action On Housing

In 2018, a report was commissioned by the DeKalb County Chief Operating Officer and the Director of the DeKalb County Department of Community Development to assist the county’s Affordable Housing Task Force in gaining a deeper understanding of affordable housing challenges in DeKalb County. The top two recommendations out of that report (which you can read here) were to create a Chief Housing Officer for the county and to create an affordable housing committee. To date, none of the items on this now 4-year-old report have been acted on.

Earlier this month Commissioner Ted Terry put forward legislation to take the first step and create an affordable housing committee. Let's make sure they hear from neighbors who want a committee dedicated to finding way housing solutions that create a more inclusive, compassionate, and sustainable DeKalb County! This tool will help you send a letter to all Councilmembers ahead of the upcoming vote.
