Tell Georgtown: STOP Union Busting Your RAs!

The Georgetown Resident Assistant Coalition (GRAC) - OPEIU Local 153 is made up of dedicated Resident Assistants (RAs) whose labor makes resident student life on campus one of safety and community. Unfortunately, since the University hired the newly-appointed Executive Director of Residential Education Heidi Zeich, RAs have faced an onslaught of retaliatory and discriminatory actions under Heidi's leadership. These actions include a reversal of a long-held policy in which RAs choose their suitemates, failure to re-hire current RAs for the upcoming academic year (despite this being guaranteed in the CBA), weaponization of the CBA in disciplinary meetings and write-ups, and terminations without progressive discipline or just cause, leaving several RAs without work and scrambling for housing during finals week.

We have filed several Unfair Labor Practice charges (ULPs) and grievances in response, but we also call on campus and community allies to tell Heidi and the Georgetown administration that this retaliatory behavior flies in the face of Georgetown's own Just Employment policy and the University's mission; including Cura Personalis, justice, equity, and respect.
