Tell Governor Murphy: Veto the OPRA Bill

Our State Senate and Assembly just passed a bill that will amend our Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”), the law that allows people to obtain public records. OPRA is an essential tool for combatting government waste, fraud, and corruption. Journalists, organizers, and activists rely on OPRA to get the information they need to stay informed and engaged on critical issues in our towns, counties, and states. These changes will make it harder and more expensive, for citizens to obtain government records, and will likely lead to less oversight of government activity.
An open and transparent government is necessary for a functioning democracy. Please send a message to Governor Murphy telling him he must VETO the OPRA bill.
