Tell ICE Profiteers: We Will NOT Accept Concentration Camps in Maryland!

Only a few months ago, the Department of Homeland Security secretly bought a warehouse in Washington County, Maryland with the intention of turning it into a concentration camp. By purchasing the warehouse outright, they were able to sidestep the will of the people in the state of Maryland, where the 2021 Dignity Not Detention Act prohibits new immigrant detention centers.

ICE intends to make this concentration camp operational by April and to do so they have skirted and violated requirements for environmental reviews and community input. On March 11, Maryland's Attorney General was able to secure an emergency temporary restraining order prohibiting construction for 2 weeks.

In the meanwhile, ICE has awarded contracts to two companies:

  • Anovaeon LLC, a supposed humanitarian organization that posted a job advertising offering $22/hr for concentration camp workers; and
  • KVG LLC, a defense contractor that was hired to manage the logistics of developing the camp.

To put it simply, we are disgusted with these corporations for trying to profit from human trafficking and ethnic cleansing targeting our neighbors, and for disregarding our environmental health and community welfare. We expect you are as well.

So tell them so.

Use this form to send emails to their corporate presidents to express your disgust and demand they cease their attempts to violate human rights in Maryland. On the next page, you'll be provided with a template letter to get you started.
