Tell Indiana Lawmakers to Restore Funding for At-Risk Youth

The Hoosier Youth Challenge Academy provides a critical, no-cost safety net for at-risk, high-school-aged youth across Indiana. The program offers structure, discipline, education, mentorship, and a safe environment for young people who have few alternatives.

Due to the loss of state and federal funding, the Academy is scheduled to close permanently on June 30, 2026. Once closed, this opportunity will be gone, and there is no equivalent free program available to serve these youth.

Investing in prevention and youth development is in Indiana’s best interest. Programs like the Hoosier Youth Challenge Academy help reduce long-term costs associated with crime, unemployment, and incarceration while supporting public safety and stronger communities.

Indiana lawmakers must act now to restore adequate state funding and ensure this proven program remains available to future generations of Hoosier youth.
