Tell IRC - Voluntarily Recognize IRC Workers Unite Abilene

We are the workers of the International Rescue Committee office in Abilene, Texas. On Wednesday, July 24th, we announced our intent to form our union with supermajority support. We follow in the footsteps of our peers in Dallas and Denver, and are ready to take our seat beside them at the bargaining table.
Demand for the critical services IRC workers provide has never been higher, and as our state continues its attacks on both workers’ rights and forced migrants, it has never been more important for humanitarian workers in Texas to have solid ground to stand on.
Nobody knows what our clients and communities need to thrive like we do, by forming our union we ensure a better IRC for ALL. We have called on IRC to avoid a lengthy and wasteful election process, by granting us voluntary recognition. The deadline for management to respond to our request for voluntary recognition is Wednesday, July 31, at 5 PM CT, and we are asking community members, allies, and friends of IRC workers to email IRC Abilene and headquarters' management to demand voluntary recognition. Stand in solidarity with us and urge IRC management to uphold its stated values and do the right thing!
