The city of Portland issued a land use violation to the Macadam ICE processing facility on September 17th, 2025. Since then, landowner Stuart Lindquist has been allowed to stall the process and file for multiple appeals. The Portland Hearings Office released a decision on the most recent appeal and UPHELD the land use violation! This is a huge win, and means the city should be moving forward to revoke the permit for the facility, but the battle isn't over yet. Multnomah County intervened and allowed Lindquist to challenge the violation at the county level, and placed a stay on any enforcement of the violation until a verdict is reached. Judge Steffan Alexander has approved extension after extension for Lindquist to stall consequences in court. This is OUTRAGEOUS. We need this land use violation to stick and for the claims of bias to be dismissed!
