Tell MOSA’s Executive Director to Stop Union Busting and Respect Employee Rights

On April 17th, 2026, an overwhelming majority of employees at Midwest Organic Services Association (MOSA) organized together to form a Union with the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 39. Rather than recognize our Union, which we have named the Coalition of Organic Workers (C.O.W.), Executive Director Cori Skolaski has decided to wage an aggressive anti-union campaign against employees.

We formed this union because we know it is the best way to achieve organizational transparency, worker protections, and to ensure fair pay and benefits. We are proud to carry forward the tradition of worker empowerment that has made MOSA so enduring. This is what drew so many of us to work here - to be farmers for farmers, to serve our communities with integrity, to build relationships rooted in trust and human connection, to provide high-quality and ethical certification decisions, and above all, to lead with optimism.

Unfortunately, MOSA has retained the services of Littler Mendelson, the union avoidance law firm best known for representing employers such as Starbucks and Amazon in their anti-union campaigns. Management has already attempted to arbitrarily cut workers out of our bargaining unit and plans to hold mandatory meetings to scare workers away from voting “YES” for their union.

We need your help to show management at MOSA that our clients and community stand with workers’ rights and support our efforts. Please sign on to our letter demanding that MOSA stop using client funds to retain anti-union legal services like Littler Mendelson and remain neutral as workers prepare to vote in their Union election.
