Our school year has just begun and it's already clear that McMinnville School District’s current distance learning schedule isn't working for McMinnville students and families. Our elementary students are being asked to sit through a full day of online learning, cramming 8 separate classes into a single day. Not only does this schedule lack the flexibility that many of our families need to make distance learning work - it's asking too much from our youngest learners. We need a schedule that will minimize screen time for our students and ensure that educators are able to connect with parents and to prevent any students from falling through the cracks. Tell MSD that they need to work with McMinnville educators to create a simplified schedule that provides students with the education they deserve, while giving families the flexibility they need to navigate this pandemic.
