Recently, JewishColumbus issued a public statement falsely accusing the Noor Islamic Cultural Center (NICC) and its Imam Abdel Moneim Dobal of promoting hate through intentional misrepresentation of the Imam’s words. Imam Dobal’s prayer included the following plea: “Oh God, it is for You to deal with the criminals of the Zionists, the aggressors, the blood-shedders, the killers of children, oh God of the Universe. Oh God, they are no match for You". However, JewishColumbus decided to intentionally use inflammatory words like “annihilation” and “extermination” in their translation – words that were never uttered by Imam Dobal.

Furthermore, Governor Mike DeWine and Congresswoman Joyce Beatty issued reactionary statements standing with JewishColumbus without verifying the accuracy of the claims or reaching out to NICC for clarifications.  Our elected officials must lead with truth, justice, and accountability not misinformation and fear. Join us in urging them to take a path that unifies Ohio’s communities and to rise above the politics of fear and division.
