Tell Pasadena City Council We Need More Affordable Housing!

Rosemead Family Apartments is a proposed 133-home, 100% affordable housing development at 600 N. Rosemead Boulevard in East Pasadena. The project would serve working families, special needs residents, and community members displaced by the Eaton Fire.

The project smartly repurposes an existing office building into 51 homes and constructs a new five-story building on an adjacent surface parking lot — turning underutilized commercial space into desperately needed homes for Pasadena families.

The project cleared the Design Commission, but just barely. Now it goes to the Pasadena City Council and the NIMBY opposition isn't backing down.

On Monday, May 18th, the Pasadena City Council will hold a public hearing on Rosemead Family Apartments and vote on its future. Organized opposition from nearby NIMBY homeowner groups is expected to show up in force. Housing Action Coalition is asking pro-housing community members to send a letter directly to the City Council — and show up on May 18th — to make sure Pasadena follows through.
