The San Francisco Board of Supervisors, San Francisco Democratic Party, and California Democratic Party have all come out in support for single-payer Medicare for All, yet Pelosi has yet to follow their lead.

Currently Americans pay the highest cost per capita for healthcare than any major nation. Despite these high costs we have higher infant mortality rates, especially in black and brown communities, and lower life expectancies. Meanwhile insurance companies and their CEOs are raking in billions of dollars in profits while people with life-threatening illnesses are going bankrupt and Americans with disabilities are living in poverty. 44 million Americans have no health insurance and tens of millions more can barely pay their bills.

We cannot continue to uphold this broken system, which is why we need every day San Franciscans to sign this easy-to-use email urging our Representative, Speaker Pelosi, to cosponsor H.R. 1384, Medicare for All Act of 2019, and help the wealthiest nation in human history guarantee quality healthcare to everyone living in it.
