Orange County Demands Our Congressional Reps Block the Bombs

Residents of Orange County have sent nearly $200M this year alone to fund Israel’s genocide in Gaza, which has resulted in the deaths, displacement, and immense suffering of over 2.3 million people. International aid agencies warn that the entire population is at risk of famine. Humanitarian access remains severely obstructed, and credible investigations have documented the use of U.S.-supplied weapons in attacks on schools, hospitals, and shelters. The United Nations has declared Gaza “the hungriest place on Earth,” while aid efforts are described as “among the most obstructed in recent history.”
The Block the Bombs Act (H.R. 3565) introduced by Reps. Delia Ramirez, Sara Jacobs, Pramila Jayapal, and Mark Pocan to suspend the transfer of certain offensive weapons—such as bombs and artillery shells—to Israel unless the Israeli government provides written assurances that these weapons will be used in compliance with U.S. and international law. These assurances must be reviewed and approved by Congress. Defensive systems like Iron Dome are explicitly exempt. This legislation aims to restore congressional oversight and prevent U.S. complicity in further civilian harm.
