Congress: Protect our Right to Protest Climate-wrecking fossil fuel projects!

A dangerous provision in “pipeline safety” legislation currently before Congress could squelch dissenting voices against dangerous, climate-wrecking oil and gas pipelines proposed in communities throughout the country.

This expansion of criminalization would apply to a wide range of activities that activists may use to protect their communities from the threat of oil and gas pipelines in their communities.

Senator Maria Cantwell is the ranking member of the Commerce, Science and Technology Committee, and is a lead negotiator on the final text of the bill. She has the power to remove the dangerous language from this bill before it moves out of committee.
