Anti-LGBTQ+ extremists in South Carolina continue to prioritize destructive, harmful bills targeting LGBTQ+ equality over legislation that would uplift SC families. This time, they're trying to pass a bill that would target the freedoms of LGBTQ+ young folks under the guise of protecting parents' rights.

Legislation introduced in the House and Senate would put LGBTQ+ young people in harms way, under the guise of parental rights. Specifically, these bills (H. 3118, H. 3011, H. 3638, S. 242, S. 243) aim to force educators to out queer youth, require educators to get parental consent for certain lessons, and more – potentially putting thousands of South Carolinian children in danger.
