Tell SSA: Don’t Let Social Security Data Power ICE’s Deportation Machine

The administration is trying to supercharge its deportation tools by feeding more personal data into DHS’s Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database – a massive system already being used to target immigrants and flag people for wrongful voter purges. Now the Social Security Administration (SSA) wants to plug its own records into this system.

SSA’s mission is to support workers and families, not to fuel an invasive surveillance and deportation regime. But as we speak, they’re laying the groundwork to expand a database that can be used to further the deportation regime.
