Tell the Camden County Dems: No Fake Candidates in Our Elections

Take action today and tell the Camden County Democrats that you oppose the deeply undemocratic ploy of running fake candidates in our elections. For over a decade, the integrity of Camden County elections have been undermined by “phantom candidates.” These fake candidates are real people who are not really running for office. They are recruited to act as spoilers, to siphon votes away from real challengers and cause voter confusion. The Norcross machine first used this dirty trick against Republicans in 2010 and has been utilizing it against fellow Dems ever since! In Florida, individuals have faced charges for recruiting phantom candidates but here in New Jersey it continues!

The phantom candidates do not run campaigns. They do not maintain websites or social media pages. They do not talk to the press–except once in 2019 when a phantom candidate made the mistake of admitting that he didn’t know why he was running, he’d just been asked to do it. Some of these phantom candidates are not registered Dems. Some are not even registered voters before being recruited!

This corrupt practice must end! South Jersey Progressive Democrats have been calling out this injustice for years and have been working to return integrity to our elections by ousting the fake candidates to the best of our ability. But we need your help! Tell the Camden County Democrats no more dirty tricks! The integrity of our elections matter. The practice of running fake candidates is unethical and deprives Camden County voters of what they deserve–real ballots and real elections!
