Tell SF Planning: Plan for Homes not Warehouses in Mission Bay
Amazon proposes a three-story, 24-hour package-delivery facility at 900 7th Street. The 6.23-acre site is roughly the size of five football fields. The project would include about 710,000 square feet of floor space and more than 1,000 vehicle parking and staging spaces.
Before Amazon purchased the site, it was planned as a mixed use development with 1,000 homes.
What we are asking SF Planning to do
- Study plans with about 1,500 homes, about 2,000 homes, and the greatest number of homes the site can reasonably support.
- Identify the zoning changes needed to make housing the main use.
- Show how much land the delivery operation actually needs and whether housing and delivery operations can share the site.
- Hold a public Planning Commission hearing before an approval closes the housing option.
Send the email and ask SF Planning to plan for thousands of homes at 900 7th Street.
