Electricity costs in the District have gone up 93% since 2020, outpacing all other states in that time frame. More and more families are being forced to choose between keeping food on the table or keeping the lights on.

Data centers across our region are driving up the cost of energy itself, while our regulators have allowed monopoly utilities to increase their delivery rates year after year. The solution? Generating our own energy at home with solar panels! Plug-in solar, in particular, could save local households $110 to about $330 per year and expand solar access to renters.
