ICE undermines citizen trust in their local and state police – particularly as ICE’s tactics become more brutal and deadly by the day.

SB0245/HB0404 is an emergency bill that bans agreements with ICE as soon as the Governor signs it! Currently, eight Maryland counties have 287(g) agreements with ICE: Allegany, Carroll, Garrett, St. Mary’s, Washington, Cecil, Frederick and Harford. Five of them were signed just in the last year. It is time to end them all!

SB0001 prohibits law enforcement from masking to conceal their identity while operating in Maryland. Masks create fear and uncertainty – which with ICE is the point – and undermine public safety. Police agencies around the country are warning about an increase of police or ICE impersonations to commit other crimes.
