Tell the School Board to Support Educator Demands!

After over a year at the bargaining table, Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has still not come to an agreement with the United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA) and SEIU 99. The demands of the education workers center around being able to afford to live in Los Angeles, improving classroom conditions and student:counselor ratios, and protecting our immigrant students. The district started the year with over $5 billion in reserves and has spent over $10 billion in outside private contracts over the last four years. Yet they're crying poverty and won't bring a real deal to the table. For the 70,000 educators, that means they're ready to strike April 14th.

LAUSD has the power to avert this strike and help build the schools we deserve. As socialists, we need to put the pressure on them to support working-class educators. Send this email to the school board and acting superintendent and tell them to bring a real proposal to the bargaining table.
