CURTAILMENT POLICY IS THE WRONG COURSE OF ACTION.

The UC Office of the President (UCOP) is considering the establishment of a “curtailment program” it claims is necessary to address financial shortfalls. Under this program, all unrepresented UC staff will either be required to take unpaid days off or use our accrued leave. Many staff have little if any accrued leave, or need it for obligations outside of work. Others are already having a hard time making ends meet. UC has a number of more equitable ways it can address budget shortfalls.
