Tell the United Nations: End Partnerships with Genocide-Enabling Tech Companies

On June 30th 2025, United Nations Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese released a report, “From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide”, exposing how technology companies have fueled Israel’s illegal occupation, apartheid regime, and its ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. The report concludes that AI, cloud and surveillance technologies provided by big tech corporations Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Microsoft, HP, IBM and Palantir are enabling Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Since the release of the report, UN Special Rapporteur Albanese has been sanctioned by the U.S. government for exposing the connections between AI, big tech, and the Israeli apartheid regime. This was clearly a politically motivated attack, aimed at delegitimizing the disturbing findings of Albanese’s report.
However, rather than to its own legal experts (such as Albanese) and holding these big tech corporations accountable, UN Secretary General António Guterres has tried to distance himself and the U.N. from Albanese’s report. Instead, he has prioritized relationships with the tech companies named and protected Israel from accountability for its violations of international law through hosting the UN’s annual AI for Good Summit in Geneva, honoring executives from across big tech.
The United Nations must heed calls from workers and its own legal experts to stop platforming AI and the big tech companies that are enabling and systemizing Israel’s genocide. Write to UN Secretary General António Guterres and Secretary-General of the UN’s International Telecommunication Union Doreen Bogdan-Martin to demand that the United Nations act according to its values and mission by taking the following actions:
Adopt the recommendations in UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese’s report, “From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide”, such as:
Terminate all relationships and contracts with corporate leaders and big tech companies including Amazon, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Palantir, and HP complicit in the genocide of the Palestinian people.
Officially classify militarized AI, cloud and surveillance technologies as dual-use given their proven capacity to be used as weapons.
Call for an ICC investigation into corporate executives and entities for their role in the commission of and profiting from international crimes.
Publicly condemn the targeting and sanctioning of Special Rapporteur Albanese and endorse her report exposing the role of big tech and corporations in Israel’s genocide and occupation in Palestine.
Stop platforming tech executives who are complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
