Tell U.S. Congress: Support legislation for National Health Study on PFCs/PFASs

PFASs (formerly known as PFCs) have contaminated water surrounding military bases from the use of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) and have become a widespread national public health issue impacting thousands of Americans. PFASs are concerning to the impacted community because they are man made chemicals that persist in the body and the environment. They have also been linked to several adverse and serious health effects such as different types of cancer, immune dysfunction, high cholesterol, pregnancy induced hypertension, and more. There is proposed legislation in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2018 that would mandate the DoD to fund a national health study on PFAS/PFCs that will help provide answers to the impacted communities about their health questions and concerns. Please write your members of the U.S. Congress and ask them to support Section 1060B in the House-passed bill and Section 343 in the Senate version.
